What am I currently up to

It has been a busy year. I started work with Expert Support helping out the Core Data Tech Writing team at Google. I am really enjoying Cider, markdown, Critique, and all the fabulous folks I get to work with. It is a worldwide team, but sane hours. These folks have remote work dialed in at the right level. Love these crazy complex data tools -

Still loving the side gig of property management and how I get to use it to bring my extended family together. We make an amazing team. I am so impressed.

———————————————Historical updates——————————————————————-

I have been working as a 1099 contract technical writer for the last 4-5 months.

I did a short bout of work setting up some Docusaurus content for a stealth-mode start-up doing data security and compliance.

I am currently engaged working for Ahana, a Presto open-source contributing company. As part of this job, I have been able to get deeper into the day-to-day production aspect of Docusaurus. Delighted to be back in an environment that requires running queries through the command line and standing up compute planes on AWS for Presto.

A new to me skill that I didn’t think I would like as much as I have been is using CloudApp to create videos of myself and my screen as I work through doing things like setting up a compute plane using Ahana or as I set up OpenSearch in AWS. Really hoping to do more of that and to create some of those in a way that is generic so that I can share them through this website.
